Terms of service.
Please check your booking form carefully to ensure that everything you have ordered is shown. The booking form will act as our checklist when we are ordering from suppliers and decorating your event. Please inform us of anything missing immediately.
A non-returnable deposit of 50% of the total amount is due at the time of your booking. Booking is not guaranteed until this deposit is paid. All deposits are non-returnable / non refundable.
The balance must be paid 14 days prior to the date of the event for which the balloons are required.
Payments can be made by direct debit transfer, PayPal or in cash. Information on bank and PayPal details are on the invoice.
Balloons will not be installed on the day of your event unless payment has been received in full by the due date.
Small alterations to the original order may be made up to 14 days prior to the event at which time the materials will be ordered from our suppliers. In this event, a revised booking form will be created to reflect any design change and or total cost payable.
It is essential that the telephone number of the venue or key holder be supplied to us so that we can arrange a time to install your decorations. Balloon decorating can be time consuming and in some circumstances some construction will need to take place at the venue. For this reason we may need to access the venue earlier than you would expect. We cannot be held responsible for any problems, which may arise from our not being able to gain access to the venue at a time suitable.
The safe keeping and return to Shenanigans of any returnable fixings, display pieces and hire or loan equipment is the responsibility of the client unless otherwise agreed.
A rental agreement will be completed and a cash deposit will be required which is fully refundable on the return of all hire items. Any damages or losses will be deducted from the deposit. Please see rental agreement for more information and terms and conditions.
Balance refunds cannot be made on events cancelled less than one calendar month before the event. Suitable insurance should be taken out to cover this eventuality.
We cannot take responsibility for event cancellations or errors that are a result of or affected by adverse weather conditions, industrial action, incorrectly supplied address details, strikes, natural disasters, pandemics, industrial accidents, road accidents or terrorist activity as all of these are beyond the control of Shenanigans. It is the client’s responsibility to ensure adequate insurances are in place for these eventualities.
This contract is binding on both parties unless amended by mutual consent.
Safety guidance
Never under any circumstances should helium be inhaled. Compressed gases, of which helium is considered to be, when inhaled, could cause asphyxiation. Breathing in helium balloon gas may cause unconsciousness and death due to a lack of oxygen. Shenanigans have the right to refuse the sale of helium-inflated balloons if we think they are to be used for this purpose.
Latex is a natural substance, however it can cause an allergic reaction in some people.
Shenanigans are not responsible for any allergic reactions or harm that many result from anyone breathing in helium from the balloons we provide.
It is the client’s responsibility to ensure that foil balloons are not released into the atmosphere. The material in these balloons can conduct electricity and cause severe problems if they come into contact with power lines. They are also non-biodegradable.
Sensible use of balloon accessories and supervision is required for all children, this will reduce the chance of accidental injury, for example balloon cups or valves could be swallowed, balloon sticks can be dangerous if waived near the face or eyes, balloon ribbons can cause asphyxiation. Children can suffocate on uninflated or broken / popped balloons. Balloons are not toys, they are for decorative purposes; they should not be played with.
Certain installations may require the use of heavy base weights, poles and fishing line; these displays are perfectly safe if they are not interfered with. Children and adults should not play around or attempt to move these items.
Shenanigans does not accept any responsibility for any injury caused by the balloons and decorations we provide.
When agreeing to our Terms and Conditions you are also consenting to giving Shenanigans permission to take photographs of the work we have undertaken at your venue for the purpose of promotion and marketing and to use these images on social media.
I, the client have read and agree to adhere to the above safety guidance information and agree to the terms and conditions.
